Illinois Assembly approves Patients' Right to Know Act

The Illinois General Assembly on Tuesday passed the Patients' Right to Know Act after more than 10 years of waiting for the bill's approval. The bill would enable patients to access the practice histories of state doctors including any firings, convictions and medical malpractice payments in the past five years, which will be collected and posted on the website of the Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
