United says a glitch caused reuse of numbers from 9/11 flights

United Airlines said that the reuse of flight numbers from two of the doomed Sept. 11, 2001, flights was the result of a computer glitch. The computer reassigned Flight 93 and Flight 175 to flights this week, causing indignation among pilots and flight attendants. "It was an unfortunate and inadvertent mistake on our part," said Rahsaan Johnson, a spokesman for the airline.
