Pfizer chief backs FDA preview of advertising

Pfizer chairman Hank McKinnell said his company would be willing to submit its advertising to the FDA for review before the ads are launched. "If they don't like it, they ought to tell us before we run it, rather than after," he said. On another issue, McKinnell said he does not support creation of a drug-safety center independent of the FDA.
