App makes access to student meal accounts more convenient

A Wisconsin school district is making it easier for parents to manage students' meal accounts. The district's existing online payment system recently released a free smartphone application, which allows parents to load funds and monitor meal purchases on the go. "We're finding a lot of our families don't have computers or laptops or Internet access at home, but they will have [smartphones]," Amanda Frisque, foodservice specialist, said. "This is an extra convenience for them."
