GMO labeling is inevitable, former FDA official says

Dr. David Acheson, former FDA associate commissioner and now head of food safety and import at Leavitt Partners, says a federal standard on labeling genetically modified organisms is inevitable because the food industry does not want each state to have a different law. However, he says not to "confuse consumers' appropriate desire to know what they are eating with risk-based labeling for the purposes of public health."
