More time is needed to satisfy EMIR, experts say

Experts expect the European Securities and Markets Authority to miss a Sept. 25 deadline established by the European Commission for drawing up technical standards for the extraterritorial part of clearing rules in the European Market Infrastructure Regulation. Registering central counterparties, among other issues, is too complex to complete that quickly, experts say.
