Some states consider Medicaid life-settlement proposals

Some states are considering allowing Medicaid life settlements, which are life insurance cash-out tools that would allow people to use some of their life insurance money to pay for long-term care instead of surrendering the policies in full to qualify for Medicaid. Florida, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine and Texas are considering such proposals, which would help offset the amount states spend on Medicaid's long-term-care costs.
