Device that uses shock waves holds promise for angina patients

Cardiologists are conducting a clinical study to test the safety of Cardiospec, a device from Medispec that can help ease angina and restore oxygen supply to the heart by delivering shock waves to the cardiac muscle to incite blood vessel growth. Medispec hopes to get FDA approval for the device by 2012.
