2 hotel projects advance plans for Boston's $2B convention center expansion

The Boston Redevelopment Authority has given the go ahead for construction of two hotels, worth an estimated $190 million, as part of the first phase of the $2 billion plan to expand the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center. The 330-room Aloft and 180-room Element hotels will break ground by the end of the year and are expected to be operational by 2015.
