CEA supports legislation to stop anonymous patent filings

The Consumer Electronics Association is backing the End of Anonymous Patents Act bill introduced by Rep. Ted Deutch, D-Fla. CEA's Michael Petricone said in a statement that lawsuits by patent assertion entities, also known as patent trolls, "have reached epidemic proportions in the technology industry. By exploiting loopholes in the law, patent trolls -- who produce nothing of value -- penalize innovators and drive up prices for consumers."
