How access to fiber spurs proliferation of VOD

The presence of ultra-high-speed broadband, such as that powered by Google's emerging fiber network, is having a direct effect on demand for video-on-demand and streaming media and is pushing other providers to soup up their services to keep pace, observers say. Forbes reports the Google Fiber network has created increased interest in services such as Netflix and influenced providers such as AT&T and Time Warner Cable to introduce expanded offerings.
