NP in Mariana Islands wins excellence award

Arley Long, a nurse practitioner at the Tinian Health Center in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, won a 2013 AANP State Award for Excellence. Long lobbied the CNMI legislature to amend the Nurse Practice Act, permitting NPs to practice independently, and she helped create a nurse exchange program with Japan.
