Ohio lawmakers eye changes as alternative to Medicaid expansion

Republican lawmakers are considering work requirements and time limits for Medicaid recipients as alternatives to Ohio Gov. John Kasich's proposal to expand the program. They are also thinking about transferring thousands of children, disabled workers and pregnant women from Medicaid into a health insurance exchange. Republicans want to reduce Medicaid's costs and guarantee the program offers temporary rather than permanent assistance while helping the uninsured, said state Sen. Keith Faber.
