Pistorius declines to race for the remainder of 2013

Oscar Pistorius, the double amputee Paralympic gold medalist, will not compete in any track events for the remainder of the year, according to news reports. Pistorius was accused in February of murdering his girlfriend and is awaiting trial later this year. Under the terms of his bail, Pistorius is allowed to compete in events outside of South Africa, but his agent said he was not mentally ready to return to the track.
