Senate is urged to address U.S. used nuclear fuel management woes

The Senate should support a bill that would create a federal agency to oversee used nuclear fuel storage and consent-based procedures for the material, said Sen. Chris Murphy, D-Conn. The issue is important in Connecticut because of Dominion Resources' plan to expand the used fuel storage capacity of its Millstone plant in the state, Murphy said.
