Weis uses mystery to clear up nutrition education

Weis Markets has launched Mystery Tours, a healthy-eating education program for second- through fourth-graders. Children are given hats, spyglasses and writing pads and are invited to solve the mystery of the reason fictional character Energetic George has lost his energy. "Produce plays a huge role in the tour, but then we go to meat and dairy departments, and to grains, and then to the beverage department," said Karen Buch, director of lifestyle initiatives at Weis.
