$1.5B expansion plan for Minn.'s Mall of America advances

The plan to double the size of the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minn., took a step forward when the state Legislature approved tax breaks worth $250 million. The expansion would increase the mall's area by up to 5.6 million square feet and includes additional retail space, hotels, movie theaters and perhaps even a water park. No construction date has been set for the project's groundbreaking.
