Boost takes prepaid to mobile wallet with cash card

Boost Mobile, the Sprint Nextel-owned prepaid service, introduced a mobile wallet service on Tuesday that allows shoppers to pay for items at the register with a prepaid cash card that they can receive by signing up for and paying into a premium account. The Mobile Wallet service, a product of mobile payments provider Wipit, is largely aimed at Boost customers who pay for their wireless service with cash. In other mobile payment news, PayPal said it will increase its marketing budget this year to support a smartphone-enabled service that allows shoppers to use the online payment company at registers.
