Md. board adopts policies to protect students from head injuries

The Maryland State Board of Education adopted policies this week intended to better protect student athletes from head injuries. Among other things, the regulations require additional training for physical-education teachers. Under the policy, districts also are required to draft their own procedures for notifying the proper people about the injury.
