Mobile device users overwhelmingly prefer ad-supported app content

Two-thirds of smartphone users and almost three-quarters of tablet users would prefer to see advertisements instead of paying for access to premium application content, according to a study from Yankee Group. The study found 7 in 10 of smartphone users said they would hand over personal information for premium content, and 77% reported they would view an ad to get a free app download.
