"Much accomplished, much to do" 30 years after HIV discovery

The Pasteur Institute in Paris will host an international symposium to mark the 30th anniversary of the discovery of HIV, which causes AIDS. Though much progress has been made toward developing treatments, a cure remains elusive as scientists realize they must do better than nature, says National Institute for Allergy and Infectious Diseases Director Dr. Anthony Fauci. "We need to have some new discoveries in the field of immunology," pioneering HIV/AIDS researcher Françoise Barré-Sinoussi said.
