New directors revamp HOA and improve community

Five new directors on the HOA board in the Vineyards in Chandler, Ariz., have turned things around for the community by cutting HOA fees, integrating consistent landscaping and keeping up with maintenance. Serving on the HOA board "can be a thankless job, but I have no regrets about doing it," says member Gary Gordon. "I feel like we've weathered the storm. We're not doing anything magic. I think we just got in there and cared about what was happening."
