Puerto Rico asks for $1.4 million to develop FirstNet

Puerto Rico is asking the National Telecommunications and Information Administration for $1.4 million to develop the island's FirstNet system for public safety agencies and first responders. The total cost of constructing the technology network is expected to be $20 million to $40 million and will require a separate funding request.
