USPSTF: Family physicians can improve dental health in children

The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force issued draft recommendations encouraging primary care physicians to treat children with fluoride varnish and oral fluoride supplements to help prevent tooth decay. Task force chairwoman Virginia Moyer said evidence shows family physicians "can play an important role in helping to reduce tooth decay, substantially improving children's health."
