Deadline for unreleased FSMA rules moved to June 10

U.S. District Court Judge Phyllis Hamilton moved the deadline for releasing the outstanding food-safety rules required under the 2011 Food Safety Modernization Act from May 20 to June 10. Hamilton approved on May 17 the Joint Stipulation for Extension of Time that was filed by the FDA and the Center for Food Safety because the two parties didn't have adequate time before May 20 to talk about their differences over the FDA's schedule to issue the proposed rules. The foreign-supplier verification program is one of the rules that have not been released yet.
