In many places around the world, there are rumors of strange flying "cryptids" -- creatures whose existence has not been confirmed by science. Some of the freakiest examples are the kongamato, a red flying lizard that is said to feed on rotting human flesh; the lightning bird, which is said to produce lightning and to drink human blood; and the Jersey devil, a goat-bat-kangaroo hybrid that is believed to ferociously attack livestock.
