Feds eye $300M savings by unifying carrier deals

The government's General Services Administration said it would save up to $300 million a year after striking a deal with the top four wireless carriers that consolidates their purchase agreements under a single platform. A GSA official said the deal will unify 4,000 wireless deals served by 800 various calling plans. That should reduce overage fees, lead to greater sharing of plan minutes among workers and guarantee uniform pricing and terms across federal departments.
