Maine governor eyes more restrictions on wind power

Maine Gov. Paul LePage will not support a compromise energy package being assembled by state lawmakers unless it also stiffens the rules on wind power development. LePage wants the bill to include provisions that would order wind power developers to prove that their projects will cut electricity rates in order to get approval, as well as raise the threshold for generating facilities to meet so they can count towards the state's renewable portfolio standard.
