Researchers develop pill that could slow aging of the brain

A drug that mimics the brain-preserving practice of drastically reducing calories has been developed by researchers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. So far, the drug is only effective in mice, but scientists are working to develop a pill that could help slow Alzheimer's disease and other effects of aging on the brain. "Presumably, drugs will never be able to totally prevent a disease, but as long as its onset can be delayed, this is all we can hope for," said study co-author Li-Huei Tsai.
