With LG Electronics selling an organic light-emitting diode television in South Korea and Samsung Electronics having yet to put an OLED TV on the market, the Korean giants are redoubling their production of LCD TVs, Jungah Lee and Mariko Yasu write. This marketing misstep could prove advantageous to competitors, including Sony and Sharp, they note. "Samsung and LG both misjudged the ultra-high-definition market," said Jeon Byung Ki of E*Trade Korea. "Now they’re thinking they may have to stick with LCD technology for a while."
