Small businesses feel the brunt of cyberbreaches

A new report from a British business organization found that while the majority of small firms are taking steps to boost cybersecurity, the average company still loses more than $6,000 a year to cybercrime. According to the survey from the Federation of Small Businesses -- which tallied more than $1 billion in annual SMB losses to cybercrime -- about 4 in 10 small businesses in Britain have been targeted by malicious online threats, with many companies saying banks and law enforcement should be doing more to protect them.
