Legislation aims to stop "patent trolls"

A proposal from Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, aims to stop abusive patent litigation and eradicate "patent trolls." The proposed Patent Abuse Reduction Act would give defendants greater insight on who is suing them over a technology advancement and keep legal discovery document costs down. "These reforms will deter patent litigation abusers without prejudicing the rights of responsible intellectual property holders," Cornyn said.
