Cargo, passenger revenue numbers grow strongly in April, ATA reports

April passenger revenue at a sample group of U.S. commercial carriers jumped 12.5%, the Air Transport Association reports, marking the fourth consecutive month of year-over-year increases. Meanwhile, the growth of international trade led to a 22% rise in air cargo for March, according to ATA. "The April jump in passenger revenue is a positive sign, and one showing that the U.S. industry is recovering gradually from last year's severely depressed levels," ATA President and CEO James May said.
