The U.S. Chamber of Commerce recently held its Aviation Summit, where the NextGen air traffic control system dominated the presentations. Randy Babbitt, head of the Federal Aviation Administration, stressed that the key to the NextGen system is the long-term reauthorization of the FAA. Some speakers said industry executives need to help spur NextGen and hasten equipage of the cockpits. Meanwhile, Tom Donohue, president and CEO of the chamber, joined others in defending the Block Aircraft Registration Request program.
