AHRQ report: PCMHs are essential to high-quality care

Data from 14 grants to primary care practices found establishing a patient-centered medical home can be a long, difficult process but one that is essential to providing high-quality health care to patients, the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality reported in the Annals of Family Medicine. Most studies in the AHRQ grant program found that physician practices can be PCMHs without being accredited and that it is difficult to measure the financial impact of changing to the caregiving model.
