The use of prefabrication for building projects is gaining traction due to its efficiency and economic benefits, writes Allison Arieff. For instance, some designers in New York City are using prefab for multifamily housing projects as it "offers the possibility of safer sites and better-manufactured buildings at standard construction costs," said Gregg Pasquarelli, SHoP Architects designer and principal.
