The demand for qualified dermatologists to remove tattoos is likely to grow as tattoos gain popularity, but removal is neither easy nor cheap, experts say. "I can't tell you how many people I've worked on who have tattoos who wish they had never gotten one," dermatologist Brooke Jackson said. Some colors respond better to laser removal than others, and tattoos typically take six to eight sessions of treatment to fade sufficiently, Dr. David Bank, president of the New York State Society for Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery, says.
