Delta continues to scale back Cincinnati hub

Delta Air Lines plans to curtail service to five additional cities as it continues to trim its hub operations at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport. Delta says it aims to maintain 160 to 170 daily flights at CVG, down from a high of 600. Though Delta's merger with Northwest Airlines may have sealed the airport's fate, the Cincinnati Enquirer reports that CVG has been in decline for a decade, hobbled by changes in technology, competition among airlines and the shortcomings of its own geography.
