Report: Sanofi will invest in Japanese firm to enter generics market

Sanofi-Aventis will buy a stake of almost 5% in Japan's Nichi-Iko Pharmaceutical for about $55 million in a bid to enter the country's generic-drug market, according to a newspaper report. The companies also plan to create a joint venture and team up in developing bioengineered drugs, the report states.
