Study: Carriers can save millions by delaying LTE

Wireless carriers could improve their cash flow by converting to 3G-based HSPA+ technology instead of installing a next-generation LTE network, consultant Aircom asserted today in comparing the $250 million cost of upgrading 3G software to a $750 million LTE rollout. With equipment prices dropping fast, "we are seeing operators delay their LTE plans now, and we expect this trend to continue," said Aircom's Fabricio Martinez.
