An item in Wednesday's Animal Health SmartBrief incorrectly stated that equine herpesvirus is "often fatal." The virus most commonly causes nonfatal respiratory disease, but it can cause fatal neurological disease in a small number of infected horses. SmartBrief regrets the error.
