Home prices declined 0.3% in March, federal agency reports

U.S. home prices fell 0.3% in March, according to the Federal Housing Finance Agency's monthly-home price index. The increase in the sales of foreclosed houses contributed to the index's decrease. For the first quarter, home prices declined by the largest amount since 2008, down 2.5% from the previous quarter.
