Powell Gardens showcases 12 acres of edible plants

Missouri's Powell Gardens planted 12 acres of edible plants in the Heartland Harvest Garden. The $9.2 million venture also features a restaurant serving fresh produce from the garden and tasting stations scattered throughout the edible landscape. The Heartland Harvest Garden, located 30 miles from Kansas City, opens to the public on June 14.
