Creating shared value can't replace everything that CSR does

Creating shared value, or CSV, is a hot topic in the CSR community, but sustainability advocates should be aware of the method's limitations, writes John Elkington. There's plenty to like about finding profitable ways to do good, Elkington notes, but there are aspects of CSR where the pursuit of profitability alone is unlikely to produce results. "CSV is unlikely to pick up some of the really thorny CSR issues, including human rights or bribery and corruption," he writes.
