Conducting interstate business may become more difficult for employers after the U.S. Supreme Court upheld Arizona's law that penalizes companies that hire undocumented workers, experts say. The Legal Arizona Workers Act requires companies to use E-Verify to check a worker's legal status. The law could result in a "crazy quilt of immigration laws across the nation," says Garrick Taylor, a spokesman for the Arizona Chamber of Commerce and Industry. "I don't think any businesses want to go into a legislative environment where the goalposts are constantly being moved when it comes to hiring and worker verification."
