GE seeks ways to lessen health effects of fracking

General Electric is spending billions of dollars to develop ways to mitigate the potential health and environmental impacts of hydraulic fracturing. The company is acquiring related firms and opening a new laboratory in Oklahoma. "My own view is there things can be managed," Mark Little, a senior vice president at GE, said of concerns associated with the drilling technique.
