Ontario institute to offer personalized cardiac imaging

The University of Ottawa Heart Institute in Ontario has acquired a SPECT imaging system that uses cadmium zinc telluride crystal detectors, which help accurately pinpoint the area and severity of heart damage during cardiac imaging. "For the first time we can fine-tune a diagnostic scan based on the patient's needs and offer personalized cardiac imaging," an official with the institute said.
