Appeals court rules in favor of Comcast in Tennis Channel dispute

Comcast doesn't have to offer Tennis Channel the same level of distribution as its own niche sports channels, a federal appeals court panel has found, overturning a Federal Communications Commission decision against the cable giant. Tennis Channel did not offer evidence of Comcast lacking a business justification for placing its content on a lesser tier, according to the panel. FCC member Ajit Pai said the ruling shows that the FCC should "refrain from attempting to micromanage cable operators' programming decisions." Tennis Channel said it was "disappointed" and would pursue "further review."
