ATSC 3.0 standard could conflict with repacking plan

There is much uncertainty surrounding the development of the Advanced Television Systems Committee 3.0 standard for over-the-air TV, which promises targeted ads, on-demand and other pay-TV-like features. Among the questions are whether the Federal Communications Commission will push back its December 2015 deadline for repacking stations after the incentive spectrum auction, which would allow the new standard to be implemented, and whether pay-TV providers will want to carry broadcast stations that offer rival features.
