Employers embrace modified benefits, early renewal for ACA compliance

Some employers are scaling back health insurance plans that offer generous benefits in an effort to avoid paying the Affordable Care Act's so-called "Cadillac tax" that levies a fee on the most generous benefits. Meanwhile, some companies are looking at postponing compliance by renewing plans this December, ahead of Jan. 1, 2014, when many ACA provisions are enacted.
